It is a great article. I am a Java developer and after developing simple applications on both platforms, it was very hard for me to choose on of them than the other for my next project.

By the way since I am very interested and have a passion to work with this technologies, are there any opportunities where I can in your company?

Thank you

Unfortunately Sites development is the same as developing for the Salesforce.com UI. You can write your Apex and Visualforce page locally with Eclipse but they need to be saved and executed from the server. With GAE/J the application runs locally with the JDK and the GAE SDK.

Regarding offline development, doesn't Eclipse make this possible for Sites?
