Hi Jeff,
Great information about SF licenses.
I need to develop website and everymonth say ~1000 users will register and they may or may not use this again. How can i save on Portal licenses? Is there any model like " pay as per use"? Can i release licenses ? What you will recommend?

thanks,

Jeff,
Do you know what features are activated by the Service Cloud feature license, other than CTI ? Entitlement Management seems to be included by default in Salesforce CRM user license : am I right ?

I hope you can help,

Hi,
What will a customer portal to look up invoices on a monthly basis or yearly basis cost per customer (B2C). Say about 450.000 customers?

@maggie, there is a license available that provides read only access to Accounts & Contacts, but it's only available in Enterprise Edition and Unlimited Edition. It's known as a Chatter Plus license.

Thanks Jeff - this is the most informative article I have seen on this topic on the Web.

But I still have a couple of what seem to be basic questions. The situation is one where I develop a custom app on the Force.com platform, and want others to be able to use it. If I limit the objects to 10, I can use the free edition, right?

If I need more objects, my customers would have to go to Enterprise Edition and pay $50/user/month, right?

And Platform Light is not available to me, since this is not connected with CRM?

If you could confirm or deny this, it would be much appreciated.

It's a little funny to me that this type of situation seems to be so murky, or maybe it's just me.

Thanks for your article, and thanks in advance for any guidance.

Unfortunately there is not. You may try write an external app that displays data using the API.
