Jake, thanks for the question about the UI theme availability. According to the docs, "The new user interface theme isn't available until after February 5th, 2010." I added this to the post as well. My assumption is that these are the minimum browser versions supported but it doesn't specify that in the docs.

Another great post! 2 quick questions: 1) I signed up for a prerelease account, but don't see where to enable the new UI - is that out yet? 2) You wrote "The new UI supports IE 7 & 8, Firefox 3.0.x and Safari 3.2.x." - you meant Firefox 3.x, right? Surely they support 3.5, which has been out for a long, long time now. Thanks!

Yes, the collection limit is gone. And the logging enhancements Taggart was talking about are ongoing. What's coming in Spring '10 is just the first step. Mostly it represents work we did on the back end, so there's only a few things you'll notice in the UI. The system log window is completely rewritten as a VisualForce page, so it's a bit easier to work with. The format of the log file itself has completely changed, to be more consistent and easily parseable. The log explicitly tells you which code unit you're currently in. So, when a VF action method calls a trigger, which recursively calls another trigger, and then you get an exception, you can see that whole trace in the log file (this goes for workflow and validation rules as well).

In the Log Monitoring (under Setup/Monitoring/Debug Logs), the limits are higher (50 megabytes instead of 20 log traces). And the limit on the size of individual log files is higher as well.

Lots more front-end changes coming in subsequent releases, but this should get you started!

Hey Jeff,

You seem pretty plugged in - any word on the Outlook integration updates? I was pretty confident that the new version was releasing with Spring. Do I have that wrong? Is it a stand-alone release or something?

Thanks for any info you can provide. Really like the blog - it's saved me a time or two!
