Blogging is cool but…
August 5th, 2010
There has been a lot of buzz lately surrounding JP Seabury’s blog post, The Most Influential Salesforce.com Tech Bloggers. While it’s cool to be on the list with some of the other great people in the Salesforce community, I have to point out that there are a number of people that are making a huge impact by not blogging as regularly as they’d probably like to.
Dana Le beat me to the punch yesterday but I wanted to give a shout-out to the following people:
- Joel Dietz (@fractastical / d3developer)
- Wes Nolte (@wesnolte)
- Jason Venable (@tehnrd)
I don’t know how these guys do it. I can’t search Google or browse the message boards without seeing these guys helping other developers all over the place. And not only one or two sentences or lines of code but complete threads with source code and thoughtful discussions. Awesome stuff!
A couple of other great blogs to watch are Abhinav Gupta’s TECH GERM blog and Aslam Bari’s Technology Share blog. I’m not just saying that because they both work for us at Appirio, but they’ve honestly both been doing some really cool stuff so definitely check them out.

I couldn’t agree more.
The Salesforce.com Community is truly unique. There’s so much passion and interest in helping other members of the community build adoption, get more benefit, or better understand Salesforce and the Force.com Platform.
Some users dedicate entire blogs to Salesforce.com — for passion, not to monetize. Some users constantly scan twitter hashtags, helping any who seem lost, confused, seeking info. Some users spend HOURS in the SFDC community message boards, spending large amounts of their personal time to answer technical questions. Some users chime in on the Answers community, with really insightful and useful pots. Some users comb the IdeaExchange, helping to promote/demote ideas, point out duplicate ideas or fine-tune the actual request behind the idea. Some users are providing technical answers and input on LinkedIn groups.
It’s really an amazing community of people.
Thanks for the mention but I must admit I’ve been slacking on the dev boards a bit.
I do this stuff at work all day but outside of work all this coding and app building is like a hobby for me and this makes it easier to blog and post fun stuff.
Thanks for mention Jeff. It feels good to get mention from Senior Bloggers/Technocrats like you
@Abhinav, I’m not that senior or that important. I just write a lot.
Thanks for the mention!
