Last night at Google Campfire One we demonstrated PS Connect, a new extension to our PS Enterprise product that allows service professionals to run their business directly from their Gmail inbox. We were the closing presentation for the night and you can view the video of the demo below. It’s roughly a 5 minute video [...]

Box.net just announced the launch of their integration service with Salesforce but only for enterprise customers. So now in addition to sharing content in Salesforce via Google Docs, you can now use Box.net to quickly access documents, media, and other files from directly within the Salesforce UI.
The functionality in the video below looks pretty [...]

Chromium – Chrome for Mac

July 16th, 2009, No Comments

I started running Chromium (the Chrome browser for Mac) yesterday and it’s pretty nifty. It’s fast and functions alot like the Windows version. The only issue I’ve run into so far is its lack of support for Flash.
For more info you can checkout the Chromium blog or download the latest build. TechCrunch also has a [...]

Colabolo – Collaborative Task Management

July 3rd, 2009, No Comments

In my never-ending quest for the perfect PPM tool, I downloaded beta 5 of Colabolo a week or so ago. I’ve been running it on a small project and have to say it’s not bad.
Colabolo is an Adobe Air app built for team collaboration. You can use it to assign, track and resolve task assignments, [...]

Grand Central Relaunches as Google Voice

March 19th, 2009, No Comments

Google is at it again. They are giving me more services for free. I hate those guys! <g> I’ve been a Grand Central subscriber for the last couple of years and love the services. All of my voice communications on the web, great call screening and group management features.
Google just announced that they are relaunching [...]

Amazon's EC2 Console Makes Cloud Computing Fun and Easy

January 9th, 2009, No Comments

The new Amazon EC2 Console is a slick point-and-click, web-based user interface providing access to Amazon’s suite of infrastructure web services. AWS has typically been a geek service due to it’s command line interface, but this new console should attract new (Windows) customers that are more confortable with a point-and-click interface.

Suprise! SAP Acquires Business Objects

October 10th, 2007, No Comments

I don’t think that anyone saw this coming as SAP has always preferred to “build” versus “buy”. They have purchased some smaller companies like In-q-My (NetWeaver platform) and TopTier (“drag and relate” functionality), but have shied away from large acquisitions. This represents a major shift for SAP similarly when they began to “embrace” the Internet [...]

SAP offers NetWeaver subscription for developers

October 4th, 2007, No Comments

I’m not sure how this works out….
“NetWeaver was available previously only to companies that bought SAP software, but now any individual who joins the SAP developer network can buy a one-year license including software and services to develop and test applications on NetWeaver.”
Here is the catch:

For internal development and evaluation only, not production use
A one [...]

eBay confirms that it overpaid for Skype… by nearly $1 billion!

October 1st, 2007, No Comments

An interesting article in Business Week where eBay basically admits:

They overpaid for Skype
It cannot create synergies between it other core services
The business model is not working (too many free competitors, flat pc-to-phone revenue, small active user base)
Management shakeup – founders are leaving “voluntarily”
